AIR Panel
AIR is a youth panel made up of 6 young people aged between 13 - 19 years. The young people decided on the AIR name and designed their own logo.
The panel was formed in May 06 and is facilitated by Aragon Community development team - with the aim of encouraging young people to AIR their views and engage them on housing and community issues.
Progress Report September 2009
Over the last three years; AIR Aragon Youth Panel has continued to create, develop and deliver projects and events across Central Bedfordshire district. Young volunteers also play a key role in the delivery of many of the activities. There have been successful funding bids by the youth panel to fund their project ideas.
The event / trips or projects that AIR set up are to engage other young people. Many of their projects help to target harder to reach groups. They are also keen to work along side older community members in order to break down the barriers between the age differences.
The types of projects that AIR have planned & delivered has been varied - see examples below:
- Shefford Gala with themes to promote intergenerational work and antisocial behaviour awareness
- Anti Social Behaviour to raise awareness of the impact of ASB for individuals and the community.

- BOUNCE 2007 / BREEZE 2008 & EXCELLER8 Summer youth activity programmes
- Various consultations i.e youth shelters, community safety issues
- Go Karting for young people
- LYRIX ACADEMY – DJ workshops for young people aged 12 – 17 yrs
- Sports events
- Person Centred Planning – working with young people with disabilities
- Attending meetings
