Themed Customer Panels

Retirement Housing Forum

This Forum has the largest membership, with representatives from different Aragon Sheltered Schemes and meets at a different sheltered scheme for each meeting. There have been many items covered, including exercise for all, supporting People and Rural Food Access Project. This Panel gives those involved the chance to discuss issues that cover all Sheltered Schemes.

Progress Report January 2007

The Retirement Housing Forum meets every 8 weeks at a different sheltered scheme, giving residents the opportunity to visit different schemes.

The Forum has had a successful and busy 2006, having had updates on subjects including Aragon receiving the Code of Accreditation, Assistive Technology, the restructuring of the supported housing departments (Retirement Housing and MacIntyre) within Aragon and a presentation on Supported Housing, including how it may change and affect Aragon in the future.

The Forum has had visits from Bob Hopkins, Property Manager to discuss the works the department carry out at sheltered schemes, and also Rob Gerrard, Assistant Manager for Cyclical Maintenance to update the Forum on cyclical maintenance work, including gas servicing and gardening.

The Forum has also had visits from external officers, including Martin Freeman of Beds County Council to discuss highways issues in Bedfordshire, and Martin Freeman of The Greensand Trust, to discuss community projects, which we may be able to link into in the future.
