Housing Needs Service

Aragon Housing Association, through a contractual arrangement with Mid Bedfordshire District Council provides a comprehensive Housing Advice/Homelessness service for the Mid Bedfordshire area.

Housing Advice

The Housing Advice service is the first stop for all Mid Bedfordshire residents experiencing a housing difficulty. This service is available to all tenure groups e.g. home-owners, private sector tenants, leaseholders, lodgers, council/housing association tenants.

Because of the shortage of affordable housing in Mid Bedfordshire we cannot offer a house to everyone who has a housing difficulty but we can work with you to see if we can find you an alternative solution.

If you need housing advice and would like to discuss your housing options, an appointment can be arranged for you to meet with a Housing Adviser. The Housing Adviser will explore a range of housing solutions to assist you.

We can offer:

  • Advise and assistance with keeping your home, for example:
    • your rights of occupation
    • benefit advice
    • basic money management advice
    • illegal eviction
    • mediation
  • Advice and assistance to people looking for somewhere to live
  • A housing option service covering:
    • private renting
    • low cost home ownership
    • mobility options
    • supported housing

Rent Bond and Rent in Advance Scheme

The association is currently working with Mid Bedfordshire District Council to set up a Rent Bond and Rent in Advance Scheme. Further details will be published as soon as the service has been implemented.
