Find a home

Here at Aragon we pride ourselves on the services we offer, not only do we manage over 6000 social housing tenancies, we also offer different types of homes to rent or buy, such as:

Social housing rents are lower than those in the private sector. In the first year it is normally a starter tenancy, which offers a higher level of support to make sure the tenancy starts well.

Aragon Housing Association work with Partners to bring you affordable brand new rental properties.  These properties are advertised through the relevant local authority housing register.

  • Other types of renting
There are a number of types of renting available, including intermediate renting and market renting. The main difference between them is the level of rent that is charged and the tenancy is an Assured Shorthold Tenancy (AST).

Many people think that home ownership is beyond their reach but there are a number of Low Cost Home Ownership (LCHO) schemes designed to help you buy a home of your own. These schemes make buying a home an affordable option as you need a smaller mortgage and a smaller deposit. In many cases it can be cheaper than renting a home privately.

Traditionally, retirement housing has been seen as no more than blocks of flats or groups of properties with a home support officer providing support to residents regardless of what the individual wants or needs. Our vision is to provide choice to our residents through a needs-led service that delivers support, tailored to the individual. We aim to work flexibly to meet the changing circumstances of our residents.

There are a number of reasons why you might want to consider supported housing. Most supported housing is for people without children, except for mother and baby units and domestic abuse refuges. The level of support available varies between schemes from low to high and you will be assessed to find out which is the most appropriate for you.

Mutual exchange enables tenants to swap their home with another Aragon Housing Association tenant or a tenant of any other housing association or council. This can be a great way of finding a more suitable home, either locally or away from the area.

If you are already an Aragon tenant looking to downsize you may also be entitled to a financial incentive to move home

We offer financial assistance to our tenants who transfer to smaller accommodation. This is a one-off payment depending on the number of bedrooms and type of your current home and the property you move to please see the moving allowance leaflet for details.
