Our retirement and extra care schemes usually have a communal lounge where social activities take place.
These might include coffee mornings, light exercise classes (walking groups), carpet bowls, lunch clubs, IT training, Health and wellbeing talks and craft groups. We encourage our tenants to organise events and activities through tenants’ committees, with the support of our retirement staff. All Tenants have the choice whether or not they participate.
Communal rooms are often also used to provide a ‘hub’ for the benefit of the wider community. Most activities will be of mutual benefit or interest to tenants and non-tenants alike. When considering whether to allow external groups into our schemes, we always consider the needs of tenants and scheme security.

Some of our schemes also have the benefit of a communal laundryand drying area, a guest room for use by friends and relatives (for a small charge), hairdressing facilities and a communal computer.
