Girls Zone

The Girls only evenings finished in 2011 after a successful year and half; with a big thank you to Central Bedfordshire Council Community Safety Team and all the amazing young women who attended.

Girls Zone was a girls only project held in Biggleswade once a month on a Friday night.

The need for a project in the area for only girls was indentified by young women and youth workers delivering the summer programme.

Issues connected with alcohol, drug and risky behaviours such as unprotected sex were among some of the subjects which the project addresses via friendly and informal health and beauty sessions.

The sessions are well attended with young women keen to take part in activities like having their nails painted, a spray tan, hair styling, fitness testing.
