The LYRIX Academy music nights were set up in 2006 and are lively evenings in which young people between the ages of 12 and 17 can practice their DJ and MC skills.
One of the key people involved is Danny Kiteley who runs workshops and a variety of youth activity programmes to teach youngsters DJing and MC skills. He even demonstrated the LYRIX Academy project on board a carnival float at Shefford Gala & Sandy Carnival.
The sessions have grown dramatically over recent years and are now a focus for young people in local towns aross the central Bedfordshire area.
There have even been sessions in which the young people have taught older people in their communities about DJing in a lively inter-generational projects.

provide a social activity for young people who are at risk of offending or hard to engage with.
