Stratosphere Youth Pub

Stratosphere ended in September 2012 after a fabulous 2 ½ year run. The youth pub held at Stratton House Hotel on the last Wednesday of the month had on average 25 – 30 young people attending the sessions.

It was set up after local youth workers became concerned for the health and safety of young people who were drinking alcohol illegally. This had led to a variety of concerns and complaints.

The evenings were supervised by adults offering a variety of activities including lessons in how to DJ, dance, Wii exercises and games.

Other groups also provided information on how to stop smoking, tackling drugs, sensible drinking, sexually transmitted diseases and anti-social behaviour.
