Young Person of the Year 2009

Danny Kiteley won this award in 2009 for his work with the Lyrix Academy project after working as a volunteer with Aragon Housing Association for five years.

As well as teaching people DJ and MC skills at the Academy he also helps to run many other activities like sport, art and group work. Although Danny works part time and also attends college he is keen to continue his volunteering and is always letting young people know the benefits.

He was singled out for the award for consistently demonstrating his commitment to volunteering and helping others.

At an award ceremony Danny took the top prize of £1,000, half of which he shared with the Aragon Lyrix project.

Also at the ceremony at Woburn were members of Aragon Community Development Team, Aragon Managing Director Aileen Evans, AIR Aragon Youth panel and two older involved customers.
