Floating Support is a flexible support service provided by Bromford Support in Central Bedfordshire. It can help you manage your tenancy and live independently. You can receive the support for up to two years. Bromford Support will work on a one-to-one basis and draw up an individual support plan with you. This plan will say what support they will provide, and how and when you can receive it.
Bromford Support can help you to live independently in your home. The support they can offer includes:
explaining your rights and responsibilities as a tenant
help with claiming welfare benefits and Housing Benefit
help with budgeting and managing your bills
advice on any aids and adaptations that you may need for your home
help with reporting repairs to your home and managing your tenancy
general support with day-to-day living
help with contacting and making appointments with other agencies
help with managing your health and accessing local medical and welfare services
support to access training, education and employment opportunities.
Bromford Support regrets it cannot give you personal care directly, but it can help you arrange it with other more appropriate agencies.
You can contact your housing officer or our customer services team on 0300 1235544 for help with this. Referrals can also be made by family, friends or professionals with the individual’s agreement. If you do not live in Bedfordshire please contact your housing officer for information about the support service in your area and how to access it.
Bromford Support will contact you to arrange a time to meet. They will assess your support needs to see if Floating Support is the best service for you.
Floating Support can last for up to two years, but this period will vary depending on your needs. Bromford Support will set out your support needs in an individual support plan, which they will review with you at least once every three months.
There will be no charge for the service.
The support workers will keep records about the support they are providing to you. You can ask to see these records. Bromford Support may need to discuss your support with other support providers. If so, they will ask for your consent before they share any information about you.
