Resident involvement

We strongly encourage our residents to get involved and have a say in the services we provide. We have a dedicated Community Development Team which co-ordinates a variety of themed customer panels including the Retirement Housing Forum, which is made up of people living in our retirement schemes.

These regular meetings address subjects such as new or revised policies, promoting independence and empowerment for residents and developing or expanding our services.

The forum also gives residents a chance to ask questions and give feedback about the services we provide, on occasions with a guest speaker.

Sometimes these meetings also address services Aragon cannot provide. Minutes from the Retirement Housing Forum are displayed on all scheme notice boards.

Through our Community Development Team residents have the oppportunity to edit the Aragon residents' newsletter, attend training and go on trips to places of interest. We hold a regular open day and also take part in local older person's events in the wider community.

Retirement Housing tenants are also involved in the Young at Heart newsletter which is published twice a year. This is specifically for our Retirement Housing tenants and is edited by a group of tenants with support from Retirement Housing staff.
