Contents insurance

Aragon Housing Association strongly advises that you take out home contents insurance cover against damage whether through accident, fire, theft, vandalism, burst pipes or other household risks. Although Aragon provides cover for the structure for the main fabric of your home we do not provide cover for your home contents. We also recommend that your contents insurance includes cover for damage to the following items:

• glazing of windows and doors
• accidental damage to items such as bath, toilet, wash basin
• wood, wood effect laminate or other sheet floor coverings. You should also seek to include the cost of relaying and making good.

A low cost scheme is available from the National Housing Federation – My Home Contents Insurance Scheme. To find out more about this please contact the scheme on 0845 337 2463.

We also suggest that you get other quotes from other companies for comparison.  Please note that Aragon does not offer advice about home contents insurance and cannot become involved in insurance schemes.

If you expect to be away from the property for a long time, three months or more, please contact our Customer Services Team on 0300 123 5544as we may need to notify our buildings insurance company. You may also need to check your contents insurance policy or contact your contents insurance provider.
