With over 7,000 homes, assets of £270 million and an annual turnover of £30 million, Aragon Housing Association is one of the fastest growing ‘not-for-profit’ landlords in southern England.
Aragon Housing Association was formed in 1994, following the transfer of 3,000 homes from the former Mid Bedfordshire District Council, now Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC). In November 1999, the association formally changed its name from Mid Beds Housing Association to Aragon Housing Association after a wide consultation with both tenants and staff. A further transfer of 3,100 homes from CBC took place in 2001.
Aragon, which was among the top 25% of performing associations in the UK and is the highest ranking association in a government survey of large scale voluntary transfer associations, is part of Grand Union Housing Group (GUHG) along with sister organisations Rockingham Forest Housing and South Northants Homes.
Registered under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014.
