Community Alarm and Support Service – CASS
The service is designed to empower individuals of all ages to live independently and remain safe in their own home and you do not have to be a Grand Union tenant to be eligible.
From as little as £5 +VAT per week you can have a Lifeline pendant and alarm which links to a dedicated control centre and one contact per week from an Independent Living Advisor
The service is customised to provide extra support, through high tech safety equipment such as, pendants, fall detectors, bed & chair sensors, epilepsy sensors and door sensors. Flood, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors can also be supplied.
Examples of people who benefit from CASS include those with:
- limited mobility
- vulnerable and/or at risk
- sensory impairments
As part of this service we offer between one and five contacts per week from our Independent Living Team, who will check your wellbeing, the alarm system and help you access additional support.
This may be:
- Help claiming benefits
- Aids and adaptations
- Accessing medical and welfare services
- Help with budgeting and managing bills
- Making appointments

The alarm equipment connects to Tunstall Response centre via an 0330 number. All numbers that start with 03 are charged at the same rate as standard landline number.
